Sisters Anuruddha, Ahimsa, Ayya Medhanandi and Sister Nimila

Good afternoon everyone,

Before looking forward its wonderful to look back at the joyful ordination of Samaneri Anuruddha at Sati Saraniya Hermitage on September 13th. The well wishers gathered for the dana/food offering and later filled the temple with joy for Anuruddha (Acala), Ayya Medhanandi and Sisters Ahimsa and Nimila (visiting from Vancouver). Our best wishes to Sister Anuruddha with her making this life changing ‘going forth’ determination. Here are more photos of many happy people from the Sati Saraniya website.

The following weekend meditators from all over Ontario and PEI set out for the OBS fall retreat with LP Viradhammo at the Galilee Centre in Arnprior. Blessed with beautiful fall weather, each morning the retreatants listened as Ajahn read section by section from Luang Por Liem’s biography, No Worries .

The OBS is very grateful to LP Viradhammo for the generous gift of his time and his clear and succinct guidance to be with present moment awareness. For example, LP Viradhammo underlined the importance of reflecting on the truth of the following insight On the Four Noble Truths by Ajahn Dune.

” The mind sent outside is the origination of suffering.
The result of the mind sent outside is suffering.
The mind seeing the mind is the path.
The result of the mind seeing the mind is the cessation of suffering.”
