The Earth’s plates that moved under Nepal last Saturday have shaken us all. In Kathmandu, a city of over three million, the losses of so many are innumerable. Of Nepal’s 27 million people, 17% live in urban areas, with considerable numbers inhabiting remote Himalayan settlements. Thirty out of the country’s 75 districts have been affected by the earthquake. CNN reported ” the information received from the field is that 80% of the houses in these rural areas have been destroyed.” If you have not already done so please consider donating to an international relief organization.
